I’ve been in corporate training since 2004, and back then, it primarily consisted of lengthy seminars, in-person workshops, and extensive training programs.
Traditional corporate training had several limitations, in part due to the constraints we faced back then:
- Time-consuming – Employees had to dedicate hours or even days to training.
- One-size-fits-all – Courses weren’t tailored to individual learning needs.
- Difficult to retain – Large amounts of information were delivered in a single session, often leading to cognitive overload.
Then came the concept of micro-learning.
Per Božić (2025):
Micro-learning is another trend that responds to the needs of the modern employee. By delivering content in short, focused segments, micro-learning enables employees to acquire new knowledge quickly and efficiently, accommodating their busy schedules and preferences for learning on the go.
Now, with AI, we can take micro-learning to a whole new level:
- Hyper-personalization: AI can analyze employees’ past learning behaviors, preferences, and skill gaps, then tailor micro-learning modules to their specific needs.
- Real-time adaptive learning: AI can detect when an employee is struggling with content and automatically adjust the difficulty level or provide support through additional examples and explanations.
- Intelligent chatbots: Instead of requiring employees to manually search through training materials for answers, AI chatbots can provide instant responses to their questions, making learning more efficient and accessible.
In my workshop, AI for Educators, Trainers, and Academics, I demonstrate how educators can turn AI into their Intelligent Assistant (IA).
They learn to not only to reduce their workload but also to enhance the learning experience by building intelligent teacher assistants. That’s if we are ready for it.
