Encouraging AI adoption among Malaysian SMEs

A significant challenge faced by SMEs in adopting AI, as highlighted by Nor, Ibrahim, and Mohd Ishar (2025), is summarized as follows:

Many SMEs are unaware of the full capabilities of AI, resulting in inefficient utilization and suboptimal returns on investment. The absence of specialized training programs exacerbates this issue, leaving staff ill-equipped to manage AI-driven marketing initiatives effectively. Without adequate knowledge and training, SMEs risk misaligning AI technologies with their business objectives, undermining the benefits of enhanced customer engagement and targeting.
